About

Welcome to the main website of Porfiriy (Alan) Wong. This website is created as a hub for my public facing projects. For more frequent (and perhaps more fun) updates, follow me on social media.

On Great Saturday of 2022, I was baptized an Orthodox Christian in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR) with St Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia as my patorn saint. In Slavonic style, I am called Porfiriy (Порфирий).

I currently reside in the Inland Empire of Southern California and make my living as an evil stock trader. Outside of market hours, I research, write, and actively invest in people and projects I believe in.

Business

Orthodox Trading & Finance

The main things I am current trading and/or put money in are:

  • Stock Options
  • Spreads on QQQ
  • XRP (Ripple)
  • High yield savings accounts, e.g. X Money
  • Major Indices*

*The benchmark I must beat with my actively managed porfolios are the major index funds (like SPX, QQQ [...]). I have money in places like Vanguard which I use as my "competition" as a trader.

Contact

You can contact me on social media...

...or if you must avoid those, then:
porfiriywong [at] outlook [dot] com

Establish contact first and then we can use a more convenient messaging platform.

Development & Technology

This website is hosted on HOSTINGER.

Education & Research

The plan is to develop the listed sections here into their own webpages where I can both link others' work and share my own resources.

Here are some of my research interests:

  • Philology and Languages of the Church
    • Liturgical Languages
    • Modern Languages
    • Issues of Empire & Standardization
  • Higher Order Orientalism (study of the study of the "Orient")
  • Bioenergetics (study of life and action)
  • History of Money, Debt/Credit, Finance, etc. (essential research for business)

Fédération

Join a network of mutual linking public websites (a "web ring"). As this section develops, I plan on making better organized index pages, picking up where search engines became useless and AIs/LLMs started hallucinating!

Gateway

Here are some other places to meet people and do things online that don't involve big tech.
